Heartbreak can feel so bleak, babe.
My entire being went into a state of shock after finding out about my then-husband’s ongoing infidelity, which I was completely blindsighted by.
I couldn’t believe the person who I loved and trusted the most became the person who hurt me more than anyone ever before. For over a month, I could barely breathe, let alone eat or really think clearly.
I felt like I was sleepwalking in a colorless world.
Growing up in a traditional Persian household, divorce was considered a curse word and something we didn’t “believe” in.
Trust me, I know all these feelings very well and the reason I can speak into them is because I was in your very position after my divorce in December 2022- devastated and a shell of myself.
As a spiritual teacher who had already authored four books and hosted the #1 spirituality podcast, Highest Self for over seven years,
I knew that our trauma guides us to our dharma, our purpose, and that everything happens for a reason.
I trusted that if God/ the Universe was ending this relationship, there had to be something so much greater on the other side– even though I couldn’t see it now.
So I surrendered.
However, I knew the relationship was meant to end.
And after seven years of relationship, three of which we were married,
the relationship cycle had completed.
I let the old version of me completely die (literally in the tombs of Egypt) and went on the journey of a lifetime healing, transmuting and rebirthing this new version of myself.
This journey took me to the tombs of Egypt, the deserts of Dubai, the temples of Bali, the carnival of Trinidad, the shamans of Sedona, and most importantly, the depths of my soul.
I danced and sang like I never had before.
I laughed like I never had before.
My friends were telling me...
I could connect to my intuition in a way I never had before.
I stopped caring what people thought.
I started dressing in hot pink feather outfits and rocking my hair in different styles.
There is nothing that rocks your world like heartbreak and I took it as the opportunity to do all of the deep healing work underneath the surface - from my childhood, to my ancestral lineage, to my subconscious, and beyond.
And what came on the other side has been the greatest surprise of my life.
I became more alive.
I started feeling more than I ever had before. My range expanded. I truly began to feel radiantly alive.
I could empathize with people on a level I never had before.
The universe was speaking to me in more synchronicities and signs than I have ever experienced.
I cried, released, purged, screamed, journaled, reflected, purified, prayed, and processed more than I ever have in my over a decade as a spiritual teacher.
I started hearing music in a much deeper way than I had ever experienced. And this led to me starting to produce music and combine it with my poetry.
I began releasing this music, with my first song, Trust Flow, which went absolutely viral and started even being played on radio stations in Africa!
I then birthed my debut album, My Body Is An Altar, which has now passed 5 million downloads!
I didn’t even know I could sing, rap or produce music before this divorce, and now I have an entirely new career as an artist!
I had SO much more fun than I had ever experienced. I truly began to understand what self-love actually means.
